What I'm up to.

The UK's fastest-growing women's wellness community, and an AI operating system for UK businesses. Plus, a graveyard of other ideas that didn't work out.

About

I find problems and build systems around the solutions. Building in IRL & AI.

Hi, I'm Martin. A passionate entrepreneur from the UK, building companies out of Liverpool: one helping thousands of women make friends, one helping companies run themselves. All with the hope of building things that last.

The Story

Bartending to building companies.

I believe changing your environment is the single most effective way to actually change your life. Liverpool changed mine.

Where it starts
A second chance

I was an orphan. I got a second chance at a normal life when my dad adopted me. He came to the UK with nothing and worked himself to the bone, and still does, to give my brother and me a real shot. Everything I build is me refusing to waste it.

2021
University of Liverpool

Moved for university, stayed ever since. Graduated with a bachelor's in Criminology and Business.

Late 2021
Behind the bar

First bartending job with zero experience. I was hungry to progress: Head Bartender within six months, Regional Bar Trainer six months after that. Proof I could learn fast. Not proof I was in the right place.

Early 2023
The burnout

Shot for a General Manager role on Bold Street and landed Assistant GM. Burnt out fast: I had set my sights higher than my skill-set could support. The setback forced the question the jobs never asked. What do I actually want to build?

2023
Training arc

Invested in myself: courses in marketing, web design and sales, then a string of small ventures to practise on. Most of them are in the Graveyard above. All of them were tuition.

September 2023
Girls On The Go

Co-founded from my co-founder's own story, to make the UK a less lonely place for women. Two years on: a 200,000-strong community across four UK cities, and growing.

Today
OwnOS

The other half of the picture: an AI operating system so UK businesses can run without their owners. Born from watching owners trapped inside their own companies, and from living the pain myself.

How I operate

Four things I believe.

01

Change the environment

Changing your environment is the single most effective way to actually commit to changing your life. New room, new defaults.

02

Systems over willpower

Discipline runs out. Build the system so the right thing happens by default.

03

The business runs without you

If the founder is always the bottleneck, you do not have a business. You have a job.

04

It doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to be.

The founder's whole job is minimising the time between the idea and version one existing in the real world.

Right now

Where this is going.

This year

  • Installing OwnOS in its first wave of UK businesses, in person.
  • Growing Girls On The Go, city by city and event by event.
  • Practising storytelling: getting in front of the camera and sharing the journey as it happens.

The ten-year picture

  • Loneliness in the UK measurably dented.
  • UK businesses genuinely running on AI, with owners free to step away.
  • A portfolio of companies that run themselves while I find the next problem.
Connect

Building something? Say hello.

I want to meet people who are building. Founders swapping notes, owners who want their company to run without them, and investors aligned with what we're building. My inbox is open.
